School Age Child Care Program

Our School Age Child Care Programs are dedicated to providing High Quality, Engaging, Developmentally Appropriate activities for children just starting Kindergarten to 12 years old. 

The Y helps youth realize who they are and what they can achieve by reinforcing positive values in a caring atmosphere, with activities designed to help kids make friends and grow stronger in mind, body, and spirit.

Times: Before: 6:00am - 7:00am After: 2:00pm - 6:00pm

Avis Elementary School
Days: Monday - Friday
Times: After: 2:00pm - 6:00pm

When School is Out, The Y is In!

We offer care on In-Service Days and Holiday Breaks! 

Children who attend all day care will need the following:
- Packed Lunch
- Jacket
- Water Bottle
- Sneakers

Animal Puzzle JS SACC

A Typical Day

2:00 - 2:30pm  Arrival - Students arrive/hand teachers homework folders
2:30 - 2:45pm  Homework - Small group work with teachers on homework/reading. 
2:45 - 3:15pm    Snack - Students wash hands and eat snack
3:15 - 4:00pm    Activity/Outdoor - Students have the opportunity to do a planned activity or free play. If weather permits we'll go outside.
4:00 - 4:15pm    Electronic/I ready - May use their school issued tablet for education purposes. 
4:15 - 4:45pm     Group Game - Students will have the opportunity to pick and play a group game.
4:45 - 5:30pm    Free Play 
5:30 - 6:00pm   Dismissal

The YMCA is committed to making high-quality childcare accessible to all families. Tuition assistance is available to those who qualify, helping ensure every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.

Families must first apply for ELRC subsidy before requesting YMCA tuition assistance. If you have already been denied, please submit your determination letter with your application
